April 1, 2009, we began our first "work camping" jobs at the Clallam County Park at the Dungeness Recreation Area outside Sequim, Washington. We worked there until July 6th. Our jobs consisted of cleaning the fire pits and restrooms and walking the trails picking up trash.
It's a little misleading to call it work as the park is so scenic and the weather so great. We enjoyed being outside with the deer and eagles and enjoyed walking the cliff trails along the Strait of Juan de Fuca with Victoria, BC off in the distance.
Our stay there allowed us time to visit Victoria and allowed us to spend time in the lodges in the Olympic National Forest and to visit the many small fishing villages along the coast. Just a really beautiful part of America with great cool weather.
